PORTLAND, Ore., July 3, 2014 /PRNewswire-iReach/ — Synapticats, Inc. has announced the release of Wordrop 2.0, a significant upgrade to their iPad word game published last August. In addition to the original Classic mode, Wordrop gets three new game modes, full GameCenter integration, customization options, and plenty of new eye candy.

The premise of Wordrop is to spell words from the available letters, clearing them from the screen and scoring points. Longer words are worth many more points than shorter words, so boning up on your vocabulary gains you a big advantage.
In Classic and Endurance modes, survive by spelling words with letters falling from the sky before the letters fill up the screen. In Race mode, think fast and spell as many words as you can before the clock runs out. In Puzzle mode, take your time and spell words using every last letter on the screen to win the game.
There are many new options as well, including the ability to choose color themes, sound settings, and pick whether you prefer upper or lower case letters. There is a Gray color theme that works well for those that have a hard time seeing color. And by signing into GameCenter, you can compare yourself with players around the world, earn achievements for performing feats within the game, and issue challenges to your friends.
“We always knew the game had great potential, but the old version was a bit simple. Our goal was to turn it into a compelling, mentally-stimulating game that engages the player in an entertaining fashion, and we think we’ve done just that,” says Erik Rogers, President of Synapticats, Inc.
“During development and testing we also discovered something interesting: after playing the game regularly for a while, we began to notice that we were remembering and using words that we hadn’t used in years. Having to quickly form words from a pile of random letters seemed to trigger new thoughts of old, unused vocabulary. We’re not sure if there is a real benefit to playing the game, but it’s ridiculously fun in any case.”
Wordrop is available for iPad (iOS 6.0 and above) in the iTunes App Store for $2.99.
