I’m a child of the ’80s, which meant I grew up watching a bunch of great TV. Ironically, that included a TV series from the 1960s: Batman. Naturally, then seeing Amazon running a $90 off special on the Batman The Complete TV Series Blu-ray Limited Edition box set has my “buy now” fingers twitching.
It’s unclear how long Amazon is running the discount, so you can pre-order Batman The Complete TV Series Blu-ray from Amazon or click that link to check the latest price. As of this writing, the set is on sale for $179.89, a 33% discount from its $269.97 MSRP.
The Batman The Complete TV Series Blu-ray set includes all 120 original broadcast episodes, fully remastered in high-definition and cleaned-up to remove scratches and dust from the film itself. It also features more than three hours of extras, including an slew of interviews with Adam West (Batman) and a documentary-like exploration of the most sought-after Batman-themed memorabilia.
Now that I’m older, my kids are probably going to be most excited by the Hot Wheels replica Batmobile included in the package. Presuming I let them play with it, that is. They like the original Batman movie (read my review of the 2008 Blu-ray release), so they’ll be marginally interested in the TV series. But the toy? That’s probably the biggest draw for them.
As you’d expect from a modern Blu-ray box set, the Batman The Complete TV Series Blu-ray release includes an Ultraviolet Digital Copy, giving the set some serious longevity. It also sports a complete 32-page episode guide, a great addition for fans of the original Batman TV series.
Batman The Complete TV Series Blu-ray set is scheduled to release on November 11, the same day the “other” first Batman movie, starring Michael Keaton, will be available at Best Buy. [Oct. 22 UPDATE: Originally the movie was supposed to ship to all retailers that date, but Warner Bros. has announced it’s a Best Buy exclusive until December 9.]
