Sega today announced it will be releasing a number of import titles from the Sega Genesis library onto the Nintendo Wii Virtual Console. The mass influx of import titles has already begun, in fact, with Alien Soldier currently available for download on the Wii Shop Channel.
In Alien Soldier, players take on the role of Epsilon-Eagle, an alien soldier who has been genetically engineered to produce maximum intelligence and strength. Once a member of the criminal organization Scarlet, Epsilon-Eagle decides to break from the group and is forced into a showdown with Scarlet’s new leader Xi-Tiger, who kills a hostage in his attempt to destroy the rogue player. Now it’s up to the player to take revenge against the bad guys in this side-scrolling action game, choosing from six different weapons and battling a series of bosses until they reach the final confrontation with the ultimate secret weapon.
