Outside of big waves, great snorkeling and ladies in bikinis, few things had the same impact on Hawaii tourism as Hawaii Five-0. A classic cop show, and one that’s far more entertaining than anything COPS and its real-world format can serve up, Hawaii Five-0 captured mainland Americans’ imagination both for the tropical islands of Hawaii and the world of elite cops. In addition, the show coined one of the most recognizable phrases in all of cop shows: “Book ’em, Danno.” Still, for all its glory and successful run on network TV, it wasn’t until the third season that Hawaii Five-0 really found its groove. Well, that third season is about to release on DVD as a six-disc set, and we’re giving away three copies to three cop-loving readers.

Hawaii Five-0 The Third Season summary: This third season was the point in the storied cop show’s life when it really started to fall into a groove. The show follows the investigations of Hawaii Five-0, an elite branch of the Hawaii State Police answerable only to the governor and headed by stalwart Steve McGarrett. Five-O worked with Honolulu police to fight the underworld in the island state. Sooner or later, virtually all the badguys heard Steve McGarrett grunt “Book ’em, Danno!”
