London, United Kingdom – PLA Studios today is proud to announce updated Eternal Descent: Heavy Metal Heroes for iOS. Version 1.2 of the critically-acclaimed Eternal Descent: Heavy Metal Heroes has now gone live on the App Store in time for Gamescom 2013. Developed by London-based PLA Studios, the action-packed, 3D scrolling endless brawler Eternal Descent: Heavy Metal Heroes for iPad, iPhone and iPod Touch now features Special Attacks as well as various technical improvements.
Sirian, the demon-bashing warrior, can now unleash two special attacks once his Arcane Shield meter is full:
Atomic Guitar Slam – when in doubt, there’s always the nuclear option! Sirian launches into the air, raising his guitar over his head and slamming it down into the ground with incredible force, the resulting impact sends debris flying as the blast wave rips through the demon hordes, neutralising all nearby enemies and sending their bodies flying in all directions.
Wall Of Sound Dash – Unleash waves of sonic energy directly ahead and send battered foes tumbling backwards into the next demon wave, creating a domino effect that clears a path and racks up combos fast.
Eternal Descent: Heavy Metal Heroes on iOS now also features improved input responsiveness, visual enhancements and minor bug fixes, as well as a new Slow Motion effect directly tied to the amount of power that you’ve charged up. The latter slows down the action, allowing the player to revel in the power of rock when your guitar swing or uppercut connects with a soon to be crushed demon skull.
Press at Gamescom interested in seeing Eternal Descent: Heavy Metal Heroes can visit Dead Good Media on the UK Industry stand, Hall 4.2, Booth B 018e at Koelnmesse in Cologne, Germany, from 21-23rd August 21-25th.
Based on IDW Publishing’s cult comic book series, “Eternal Descent: Heavy Metal Heroes” places gamers in the role of Sirian, a nomadic warrior fighting back endless hordes of demonic creatures as they rampage through the city streets. Armed with a supernaturally charged electric guitar, Sirian must traverse the depths of the underworld and eliminate the Pit Lords within – all to a killer soundtrack.
“Eternal Descent: Heavy Metal Heroes” also features appearances and original performances from Joe Satriani, Misha Mansoor (Periphery) and Andrew W.K. who act as heroic tag-team assists activated by power-up tokens within the game. Wayne Static and Michael Amott (Arch Enemy) take on the role of end of area boss characters, gatekeepers to the realms on Sirian’s journey to Hell.
With more rock/metal music acts slated to appear in future updates for “Eternal Descent: Heavy Metal Heroes”, instrument brands such as ESP, Jackson and Dean Guitars have leant their support to ensure that all cameo musicians appear with their signature instruments for real shred guitar action!
