CD Projekt RED, the developer and publisher of the fantasy RPG The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, now has a distributor for The Witcher 3 in Europe. Namco Bandai Games Europe S.A.S, will distribute the third part of The Witcher saga and join CD Projekt RED in bringing the series to key markets in Europe.
Namco will be responsible for the distribution and promotion of The Witcher 3 in Europe and will bring the game to PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. It will also distribute The Witcher 3 for Windows PC. The full list of European countries where Namco will distribute the game includes: Andorra, Austria, Belgium, Cyprus, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Monaco, Malta, Norway, Portugal, San Marino, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, The Netherlands, and United Kingdom.
The first installment in the Witcher series was released in 2007 for PC only. The second installment hit the PC market in 2011 and hit Xbox 360 a year later. The two games received over 200 awards, so it’s no wonder the third chapter will be hitting the next-gen Xbox One and PS4.
CD Projekt RED first announced The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt in February 2013. The game is scheduled for a 2014 release and has earned more than 80 awards so far. The game will be released simultaneously for the next-generation consoles on PC.
Namco hasn’t revealed the release date for The Witcher 3 in Europe, much as Warner Bros. Interactive hasn’t yet announced a specific The Witcher 3 release date in North America. Suffice it to say, though, that there are millions of soon-to-be next-gen console owners — ourselves included — that can’t wait to learn more.
