With more information scheduled to go out at E3, we now know Far Cry 4 is one of the key titles Ubisoft will be showcasing. The publisher has also shared news about the Far Cry 4 release date, the first game details and the Far Cry 4 pre-order bonuses.
You can pre-order Far Cry 4 from Amazon effective today. Doing so will ensure you get the game on the actual Far Cry 4 release date and, better yet, get free access to several Far Cry 4 pre-order bonuses that will only be available free for advance purchasers.
Far Cry 4 will be available for PS4, Xbox One, PS3, Xbox 360 and Windows PC. There are no current plans to release the game on a Nintendo platform. The Far Cry 4 release date is Nov. 18 in the United States and Nov. 20 in EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa).
As in previous Far Cry games, Far Cry 4 is an open-world first-person shooter. As you can tell from the image above, the game does have some semi-tropical locations, but there are some rather high mountain peaks thrown in. That game engine does love tropical settings, doesn’t it?
In Far Cry 4, players find themselves in Kyrat, a perilous and wild region of the Himalayas struggling under the regime of a despotic self-appointed king. Using a vast array of weapons, vehicles and animals, players will write their own story across the exotic open-world landscape.
Customers who pre-order Far Cry 4 will receive a free upgrade to the Far Cry 4 Limited Edition. That LE version includes “Hurk’s Redemption,” a series of three single-player missions featuring the popular character Hurk from the Far Cry 3 DLC. The Far Cry 4 Limited Edition also includes Hurk’s signature harpoon gun, called “The Impaler.”
Once the Far Cry 4 release date passes, the only way to get the pre-order bonuses will be to pony up for the Limited Edition version. So, if you’re leaning toward getting the game, placing a pre-order is definitely in your best interest. Free or reduced-price content is always a good thing.
Additional details about Far Cry 4 will be released at E3. Those details include the first gameplay footage and, we hope, information about the Far Cry 4 multiplayer modes. The info will start flowing at Ubisoft’s E3 media briefing.
