All the talk going into tonight’s Washington Redskins / Baltimore Ravens game is about quarterbacks. Washington’s Robert Griffin III (RG3) hasn’t looked anywhere near his old self during the preseason, while Baltimore’s Joe Flacco has been struggling to find chemistry with new receiver Steve Smith. If you want to see how the QBs perform in one of their last tune-up games, you’ll have to watch Redskins vs Ravens game online live preseason Week 3 using a few different live stream methods. The game is not being televised.
Washington is 2-0 going into tonight’s Ravens game. The Redskins defense hasn’t faced an offense quite like the Ravens, having faced the Patriots’ Ryan Mallett in their first outing and a struggling Cleveland Browns offense last week.
Tonight they’ll face a Ravens offense that hasn’t fully clicked but is a far cry from Mallett and the Hoyer/Manziel trainwreck. Flacco completed 4-of-5 passes for 52 yards against the 49ers in Week 1, and he followed that up against the Cowboys by going 9-for-17 for 117 yards and a touchdown.
Flacco has some dangerous receivers, namely Torrey Smith and Steve Smith, but Flacco needs to improve his chemistry with the latter. Steve Smith has just two catches for 17 yards in the preseason, and with tonight’s Ravens game likely his last preseason action, watch for him trying to connect with Flacco early and often.
Baltimore also has a potentially strong ground game, averaging 4.9 yards per carry in their first two preseason games.
The Redskins’ woes are also at the quarterback position, where RG3 has struggled to return to his rookie-season glory. Tonight’s game against the Ravens could provide some respite, as the Ravens defense has struggled of late. Through two preseason weeks the Ravens have just three sacks and a half-dozen quarterback hurries. That could present Griffin some good opportunities, as long as Terrell Suggs and Elvis Dumervil don’t collapse the pocket.
RG3 was sacked once and took some shots in their second game, though he did rush the ball four times for 24 yards. He still completed 6-of-8 passes for 112 yards, but the headlines coming out of their Monday Night game were tied more to his seeming inability to protect himself from getting hit.
