2K Games on Friday night provided a brief Evolve Big Alpha PS4 update, though it’s technically less “newsworthy” than it is “strictly informative.”
Earlier Friday, 2K announced the Evolve Alpha postponed on PS4 due to lingering issues with PSN (PlayStation Network). On Friday night, just as PS4 owners nationwide were recovering from their Halloween sugar highs, 2K provided an Evolve Big Alpha PS4 update that said not much has changed.
2K’s statement was: “2K, Turtle Rock Studios and PlayStation continue to work hard to resolve the difficulties affecting the Evolve Big Alpha on PlayStation 4. Evolveās closed alpha test is still playable on Xbox One and PC. We thank our PS4 users for their continued patience. More information will be provided at the Evolve website, Twitter and Facebook pages as it becomes available.”
Though Friday night’s update doesn’t indicate when the PS4 alpha will go live, it does show 2K is as on top of the fix as it can be. The reason for the delay, per 2K’s statement earlier Friday, was “following the recent PS4 2.00 firmware update, we are experiencing difficulties with the Evolve Big Alpha on PlayStation 4. As a result, the test on PlayStation 4 is postponed.”
There is no telling when Sony and 2K will find a resolution to the issue. However, Sony is arguably distracted right now, as multiple elements of the PS4 system update 2.00 have thrown a monkey wrench into PS4 owners’ online plans this weekend.
