If you’re a fan of anime and manga, you’re likely familiar with the Crunchyroll app. If you own a Nintendo Wii U, now you can watch Crunchyroll directly on your TV via a new Wii U app.
The new Crunchyroll app on Wii U has been populated with more than 25,000 episodes of anime, manga and Asian dramas. Any Wii U owner with a broadband Internet connection can use the Crunchyroll Wii U app to access those episodes.
It’ll take quite a while to watch them, however. The content totals more than 15,000 hours of licensed shows, and they span current and classic shows like Naruto Shippuden, One Piece, and Hunter x Hunter. And yes, for anyone looking to watch Crunchyroll Sword Art Online, that’s there too.
To access the Wii U Crunchyroll app, you can grab the free app from the Nintendo eShop. Upon downloading it, any Crunchyroll premium member can begin watching shows immediately. Premium members have access to all the latest episodes of currently airing shows just one hour after they air in Japan.
Unlike a lot of online content, all the Crunchyroll episodes on Wii U are shown without ads.
If you’re not yet a Crunchyroll member but are curious about it, Wii U owners can sign up for a free 14-day trial directly via the app or at the Crunchyroll Wii U microsite.
