The first-person adventure title Mirror’s Edge has shipped today for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, marking the second new franchise (after Dead Space) that Electronic Arts has shipped this fall. The PC version of Mirror’s Edge will ship in North America in January 2009.
DICE, the game’s developer, has also announced that it’s currently developing downloadable content that will be available at the beginning of the year. More details to be announced shortly.
Mirror’s Edge is a unique first-person game in which players must jump, scramble and do everything that a stuntman-like parkour runner would do — only they must do it from a first-person perspective. In the game, Faith — a “runner” in a world where communication channels are highly monitored and the movement of information is closely watched — must traverse vertigo-inducing cityscapes and engage in intense combat and challenging puzzles as she seeks to redeem her sister, who was framed for murder.
DailyGame will have a full review of Mirror’s Edge in the coming week.
