How to open the Fable 3 Demon Doors is bound to be a hot topic, although perhaps not quite as hot as the Demon Doors in Fable 2. Reason being? The Fable 3 Demon Doors aren’t hidden down secret pathways, nor are they buried away in remote areas of Albion. Quite the contrary, they’re all shown on the world map in the Sanctuary once you visit each city, so you’ll seldom have to scour the world of Albion searching for that last, secret Demon Door on your list. However, that’s not to say figuring out how to open the Demon Doors in Fable 3 won’t present its own unique challenges. As much as Molyneux and Co. made them easier to find, how to open them all is at least as challenging as the previous outing. Fortunately, we’ve got your back. We’re here to tell you exactly how to open every Demon Door in Fable 3. Read on for the details….
It’s actually quite surprising how early in the game you’ll encounter your first Demon Door in Fable 3, as you basically stumble upon it while poking around the Mistpeak environment during the game’s second mission. Once you find this door, the Mistpeak Valley Demon Door, you’ll immediately learn that some of the Demon Doors’ riddles in Fable 3 are incredibly — perhaps insultingly — easy. In the case of this Demon Door, he simply wants to see the passion of two Heroes. Maybe it’s because he’s located in an icy clearing just past the felled trees and wants to see the “heat” of two people. Either way, the heroes he wants to see must be “live,” which means that an AI counterpart won’t do. So, how to open this Fable 3 Demon Door is simple: bring another Hero to the doorstep via either Xbox Live or local co-op. Once you’re there, use the Hug, Kiss and Tickle expressions from the Lovers Expression Pack (available on the Road to Rule), and make sure both Heroes have this Expression Pack at the ready. Fortunately, that expression pack only costs five Guild Seals, so it’s not going to cost you an arm and a leg to open this Demon Door and get the Legendary Weapon inside.
Next up on this “how to open Fable 3 Demon Doors” list is the Brightwall Village Demon Door, which has grown pessimistic about the world and lost all hope that anything pure still exists in the world. If you can bring something to him, no matter how small, that illustrates that innocence and purity still exist, the Brightwall Village Demon Door will open to reveal 25 Guild Seals and three Summon Creature potions. OK, now put on your thinking cap: what’s pure, innocent, small and runs rampant all over Albion? Yep, children. So, to open this Fable 3 Demon Door, you’ll need to bring him a child, either one from your own loins or one you’ve adopted from the Bowerstone Orphanage (you can only adopt a child after you’ve restored the Orphanage late in the game). So, if you’re the antsy type and can’t wait until the end of Fable 3 to open up this Demon Door, then you’d best get with the marriage, get with the baby making, and open up the Brightwall Village Demon Door ASAP.
The next Fable 3 Demon Door you’ll encounter is the Mourningwood Demon Door, which is located in the swampy area on the way to the sewers of Bowerstone. In my opinion, it’s also the Fable 3 Demon Door with the best name. I mean, Mourningwood? Really? That’s hilarious. At any rate, this particular Demon Door is looking for “an enormous weapon greater than anybody else’s” because he’s decided that war will never end until the Hero has a weapon that will kill everyone who would consider waging war. Nice theory, Mr. Demon Door: wage war to end war. Anyway, you probably want to know exactly how to open this Demon Door. Well, it’s not as complex as it sounds, although it definitely requires some specific combat: you need to show him a maxed-out Legendary Weapon, which you can achieve by meeting three distinct objectives that are associated with but vary based on the Legendary Weapon you have equipped. Then, you also need to purchase either the Melee or Ranged Level 5 upgrade, both of which are available only at the very end of the Road to Rule. Do these things, and you’ll get to open the Mourningwood Demon Door and reap the rewards: a Military costume and a Summon Creatures potion. Yeah, it’s kind of a piddly reward for all that work. I guess not every Fable 3 Demon Door can be an all-star, eh?
Shortly after encountering the Mourningwood Demon Door, you’ll likely stumble upon the Millfields Demon Door, which is located in the hillside between the Clixby-Stanners Manor and the Timmins Towers. In fact, this one is probably the easiest Demon Door in all of Fable 3 to locate. This Demon Door takes a basic premise of Fable 3’s freedom — appearance and how you define “normal” — and will only open if you “break with societal norms.” However, to open this Demon Door you’ll have to do a lot more than just bust out the mercenary outfit or put on a nasty tattoo. Nope, to open up this Demon Door, you must both dress ugly and gain a massive amount of weight. What’s odd here is that “ugly clothing” is apparently defined by pajamas, but make sure you color them a different color just to be safe. Nobody likes clashing pajama tops and bottoms, after all. Next, go hog wild on pies, meats and beer until your avatar’s weight meter is all the way to the right. Now that’s my kind of challenge! Once you do both of those things, you’ll be able to open the Demon Door almost immediately and gain access to its 40 Guild Seals. Good luck actually fitting your fat arse through the Demon Door, though.
In the City of Aurora, which you encounter late in the Fable 3 campaign, you’ll find without much trouble the not-so-creatively-named City of Aurora Demon Door. Presuming you’ve been living an absolutely virtuous life or a despicably evil one, this Demon Door is relatively easy to open. For instance, when I walked up to this Fable 3 Demon Door, it spoke to me in a congratulatory tone about being so upwardly moral and opened automatically into “The Moral View,” whose old stone ruins were surrounded by flowers and (literally) bunnies hopping through the grass. If you’ve been living in Fable 3 like an utter villain, however, and have made every evil decision possible, you’ll find a differently themed environment altogether. Fortunately, the prize is the same regardless of your lifestyle: a Legendary Weapon that’s probably the most powerful weapon you’ve used up to this point in the game. So yes, this Demon Door is worth living life to one extreme or the other.
Probably the most puzzling Demon Door in all of Fable 3 is the Sunset House Demon Door, which is inexplicably located inside the Sunset House near Mourningwood. However, it’s definitely worth opening, because the reward that awaits anyone who figures out how to open this Demon Door is none other than 1 million gold! This Demon Door is pretty easy to locate, as it’s just to the left of the main pathway. What’s puzzling about this Demon Door isn’t its riddle or requirements, though; it’s that to get your hands on 1 million gold you actually have to do so little: you simply need to be the King or Queen of Albion. Well, since that’s something you’ll do during the normal course of business while playing Fable 3, then this will probably be the easiest Demon Door you’ll have to open. Granted, that 1 million gold hidden within this Demon Door will come in handy before the last climactic $6.5-million battle, so you’re best to hit this Demon Door right after your coronation but before going on the Desert Star Diamond quest. No need to drop your own gold into the Treasury if you don’t have to, right?
So there you have it: the locations, treasures and instructions about how to open every Fable 3 Demon Door. My apologies if any of these descriptions unearthed any heinous spoilers for you, but look at it this way: if you’re searching the Web looking for a walkthrough on how to open all the Demon Doors in Fable 3, you’re probably not too concerned with learning a few of the game’s other little plot secrets. Enjoy!
