A new Michael Jackson single, “Hold My Hand,” will be released on Nov. 15, Epic Records announced today, and the full tracklist for Michael Jackson’s new album (called “Michael”) was also revealed.
The new Michael Jackson single, “Hold My Hand,” will be the first song released from his posthumous album. “Hold My Hand” is a duet between Michael Jackson and Akon that was originally recorded in 2007. Amazingly enough, the single was requested by Michael Jackson himself via handwritten note to be the first single released from his album.
The complete track listing for “Michael,” which will hit stores on Dec. 14, includes songs he worked on with Lenny Kravitz and 50 Cent, among others. Here’s the full list:
Michael track list:
- Hold My Hand (duet with Akon)
- Hollywood Tonight
- Keep Your Head Up
- (I Like) The Way You Love Me
- Monster (featuring 50 Cent)
- Best Of Joy
- Breaking News
- (I Can’t Make It) Another Day (featuring Lenny Kravitz)
- Behind The Mask
- Much Too Soon
Obviously the placement of “Much Too Soon” at the end is a two-fold statement: that the album is ending much too soon, and that the King of Pop’s career and life ended much too soon as well.
I, for one, can’t wait for this album to release. If you’re in the same boat, make sure you get it when it launches by pre-ordering from Amazon.com. It could make a great holiday gift, too. Here’s the pre-order link: Michael
With this tracklist and “first single” news, only one question remains: how long until Ubisoft is able to make one or more of these songs available as DLC for Michael Jackson: The Experience?
