Enemy Territory: Quake Wars is coming to a next-gen console near you, Activision and id Software confirmed today. The team-based first person shooter is, as always, focused on multiplayer action.
Nerve Software will develop the Xbox 360 version of Quake Wars, and Z-Axis will work on the PlayStation 3 version. The PC version, which was previously the only SKU announced, is being developed by Splash Damage. id Software is acting as executive producer for all three versions.
The PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 versions will all feature strategic team play, persistent character promotions and online statistic tracking. Players can choose to battle as one of five unique classes in either the conventionally armed GDF army or the futuristic Strogg invasion force, each outfitted with specialist weapons and combat hardware. Warring forces will also be able to use different vehicles, deployable structures and defense systems including quad-bikes, tanks and alien walkers. Helicopters and anti-gravity ships will also be available for airborne attacks.
Online multiplayer will support up to 16 players on the Xbox 360 and PS3 versions.
