The next chapter in the car-combat Twisted Metal franchise is coming to PS3 a little bit later than everyone might like, as David Jaffe let the world know that Twisted Metal’s release date has slipped into early 2012. Twisted Metal, a full-retail and not PSN game, will ship on Valentine’s Day — February 14, 2012 — for $59.99.
This will mark Twisted Metal’s debut on the PS3.
Twisted Metal for PS3 will feature a host of new weapons, new environments and new vehicles, including the ability to fly with the Talon, a helicopter armed to the teeth with a minigun turret. Optimized for both offline and online play, Twisted Metal lets players grab a couple of friends for two- to four-player splitscreen mode, or catch up online via PSN to play against up to 16 competitors.
