Alvin and the Chipmunks are going to sing their way into the videogame world this holiday, with a Wii, DS, PS2 and PC game scheduled to ship on December 4, just one week before the release of the live-action film.
Alvin and the Chipmunks The Video Game will focus on the Chipmunks’ musical abilities while expanding on the film’s storyline.
The Alvin and the Chipmunks game will follow Alvin, Simon and Theodore on their latest mission to play during the battle of the bands event “Rockathonapalooza.” As the Chipmunks perform in each of the game’s musical levels (from school proms to Burning Man to Forest Arenas to Rockathonapalooza), players will need to keep in rhythm with the music.
The soundtrack for the Alvin and the Chipmunks game will include more than 40 songs and feature hits spanning several decades. Among the songs are: All The Small Things (by Blink 182), It’s Tricky (by Run DMC), Heartbreak Hotel (by Elvis Presley), All Star (by Smashmouth) and Shiny Happy People (by REM).
