Tablets will be the big-ticket item this holiday season, and perhaps none will be bigger than the Amazon Kindle Fire. In a recent statement about company performance, Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos said Amazon is building “millions more” Kindle Fires than previously planned based on pre-orders alone. He also indicated that orders for the three new E Ink-based models are double the previous launch.
In other words, if you want to nab a Kindle Fire, you’d better pre-order one soon. Here’s the direct link to do so: Amazon Kindle Fire, Full Color 7″ Multi-touch Display, Wi-Fi.
Other Android-based tablets are gaining steam, as Apple continues to dominate the tablet market but lost market share during Q3 as non-iPad tablets sold through at higher rates. However, analysts have predicted across the board that the Kindle Fire, with its 7″ color display and ridiculously low price of $199, will accelerate Apple’s loss of market share and get tablets in even more people’s hands.
Now, if Android tablets aren’t your thing, Amazon has several other updated Kindles coming this fall as well. Pre-order links are included below, because based on Amazon’s preliminary data, you’ll want to pre-order these as well if you expect to get one for yourself or a family member this holiday season. Note that both Kindle versions below all includes special offers and sponsored screensavers, which is helping Amazon keep the MSRP low.
