If you haven’t had a chance to attend E3 or PAX, you’ll soon get your chance to be hands-on with Battlefield 4. EA has announced that the Battlefield 4 beta starts on Oct. 1 for Xbox 360, PS3 and PC.
By all accounts, the Battlefield 4 beta will be open to just about anyone, although there are sure to be some quantity limitations. It’s unclear, however, this this version of the beta compares to the “exclusive” Battlefield 4 beta that was previously announced for special BF players.
That beta program involved anyone who was a Battlefield 3 Premium owner, who pre-ordered the Battlefield 4 Digital Deluxe version or owned Medal of Honor: Warfighter.
The full retail version of Battlefield 4 launches on Oct. 29 for all current-gen systems. Battlefield 4 for PS4 will ship on Nov. 12 in North America and on Nov. 29 in Europe. Battlefield 4 for Xbox One will be available on Nov. 19 (North America) and Nov. 21 (Europe).
With those BF4 release dates, it’s pretty clear that you’ll be getting in on the BF4 beta with a version that’s technically final. It’s probably more of an exercise in server stress testing for Battlefield 4 than anything else.
