Call of Duty: World at War has invaded retailers today for PS3, Xbox 360 and Wii, the first time Activision has shipped a Call of Duty game that takes place in the Pacific theater of war.
Call of Duty: World at War also introduces the first four-person cooperative gameplay for the franchise. And let’s not forget the one weapon we’re all looking most forward to using on a palm tree: the flamethrower.
The co-op modes in Call of Duty: World at War support up to four players online or two players for split-screen play. Its multiplayer modes also incorporate challenges, rankings and online stats into the co-op campaign.
Online games are squad-based and expand on the Party System, complete with party privacy and matchmaking preferences. The online battles also combine infantry and vehicle missions that range from massive fields in the European theater to the intimate courtyards of a Japanese castle.
