A new “casual racing” app for iOS called Heist and Run borrows a page from EA’s Need for Speed series, at least where the high-speed police chases are concerned. With five cars, nine power-ups, fast-approaching traffic and ever-more-powerful cops chasing, the iPad and iPhone game should provide some racing fun when you need a little handheld distraction.
The game features three lanes on every road, with steering accomplished by tapping on the left or right side of the screen to switch lanes. Or you can just use the in-built accelerometer to control the car — which seems a lot more in line with modern racing games. Heist and Run features cartooned-styled graphics and supercharged cars.
