There’s something fun (funny?) about watching “proper” girls fight, so millions of Wii U and 3DS owners will be pleased to hear that Princess Peach has been confirmed as a playable character for the next Super Smash Bros. game. The news comes courtesy of Nintendo’s own Super Smash. Bros website.
Princess Peach in the new Smash Bros. for Wii U, which doesn’t yet have an official name, is great news for fans of iconic Nintendo characters. Other recently announced playable characters include Luigi, Pikmin and Olimar, and the Wii Fit Trainer, of all people. Because we’ve all wanted to beat the crap out of our personal trainers at one point or another, yes?
Mario, Donkey Kong, Link and Samus round out the list of other confirmed characters for the new Smash Bros. game.
Judging from the first screens, Fox McCloud from the StarFox games, Toad and Bowser may also be playable characters.
One of the new Super Smash Bros. screenshots linked above also appears to include the Prince from the Prince of Persia games. Could Ubisoft be working some cross-promotional magic there? Or is that some other character? Let us know in the comments below. Either way, the ever-proper Princess Peach appears to kicking his rear in the new Super Smash Bros. game. I wonder if she kicks high….
