Namco Bandai has taken the wraps off its Dark Souls 2 Collector’s Edition, as well as a Limited Edition Black Armor Pre-Order Edition. Offered in limited quantities and while supplies last, both the Dark Souls 2 Collector’s Edition and Black Armor Edition contain items that are sure to please fans of the series.
Dark Souls 2 is scheduled to launch in the Americas on March 11, 2014 for the Xbox 360 and PS3, with a PC version to follow shortly afterward.
The Dark Souls 2 Collector’s Edition will feature a 12-inch premium-quality Warrior Knight figurine that Namco Bandai says will weigh “nearly 16 ounces.” That’s a full pound of goodness right there, folks. Fans will also be able to thumb through an exclusive hardbound art book filled with never-before-seen images created by FromSoftware, the game’s developer. The Dark Souls 2 Collector’s Edition will also include a full-color fabric map of the Dark Souls 2 game world that will only be available in this version of the game. All of this content will be packaged is a metal game case from the Dark Souls 2 Black Armor Edition, which will contain both the game disc and the official game soundtrack.
Anyone who chooses to pre-order Dark Souls 2 “will automatically receive the Dark Souls 2 Black Armor Edition when the game launches, while supplies last,” says Namco. The Black Armor Edition features a metal case that contains both the game disc and the official game soundtrack that is sure to stir emotions and set players’ mood for battle.
Note that the Dark Souls 2 Black Armor Edition doesn’t include the figurine or map.
Dark Souls 2 Collector’s Edition, Black Armored Edition and the standard edition will all launch in North and South America on March 11, 2014 for PS3 and Xbox 360. The PC edition will follow shortly thereafter. No versions have been announced for Xbox One or PS4.
