DC Comics is working with Sucker Punch on a series of all-new inFAMOUS 2 comics, Sony announced today, with the fabled DC Comics team working on a comic book series that will span six complete volumes.
The new inFAMOUS 2 comics will explore new facets of the inFAMOUS world and reveal sinister motives, dark secrets and a new threat to Cole. And to all of mankind, of course. Because that’s how this storyline rolls.
The inFAMOUS comic series from DC will be available at retailers everywhere starting in March 2011 for $2.99 per issue. All six volumes will also be available at PlayStationComics at the same time. Who knew there was even that PlayStation URL?
Penned by William Harms and illustrated by artist Eric Nguyen, the series bridges the story between inFAMOUS and inFAMOUS 2 and chronicles Cole’s struggle to save Empire City before fleeing to the Southern city of New Marais.
The cover art, meanwhile, will be drawn by Doug Mahnke, who has illustrated for legendary DC Comic franchises such as Justice League America, Batman and, most recently, Green Lantern.
In inFAMOUS 2 the game, Sucker Punch will offer a more emotional and powerful point of view on the superhero experience as the protagonist, Cole, battles a new evil known only as “The Beast.” Cole barely survives a tangle with “The Beast” in Empire City and flees to the historic Southern city of New Marais in search of the key to destroying this new darkness. He must learn to control his evolving powers and once again choose to be righteous or infamous.
If you haven’t done so already, you really should pre-order inFAMOUS 2 from Amazon. The first game was fun, and the sequel promises to up the ante. We hope to bring you much more information, including hands-on impressions, as inFAMOUS 2 nears its retail release next year.
