Fans of girls who “kick high” and/or like badass ninjas take note: Dead or Alive 5 Ultimate was confirmed today as being in development for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. Tecmo Koei America will publish the game this fall as both a retail/packaged game and as a digital download.
Dead or Alive 5 Ultimate includes all of the new modes from Dead or Alive 5 Plus, as well as new stages, new fighters and “Move Details Plus.” The game will mark the first DOA appearance of Momiji, and it will include levels from the Ninja Gaiden series. It will also feature a tutorial mode so players can refine their fighting style.
Players will take on the roles of their favorite DOA fighters and franchise newbies in sets spanning the globe. The game’s dynamic interactive stages include the return of classic fan favorites as well as new locations from the Ninja Gaiden series, such as Sky City Tokyo. It also features deadly new danger zones such as the Great Buddha Statue that change with the flow of the fight.
Dead or Alive 5 Ultimate will feature the largest lineup in DOA history and mark the franchise’s first appearance of Ninja Gaiden’s Momiji, who utilizes the Hayabusa-style Aikijutsu taught to her by the master himself, Ryu Hayabusa. Additional characters will include Ryu Hayabusa, Hayate, Ayane, Kasumi, Hitomi, Bayman, Christie, Lei Fang, Zack, Kokoro, Bass, Rig, Jann Lee, Helena, Lisa, Brad Wong, Eliot, Tina, along with Akira, Pai and Sarah Bryant from the Virtua Fighter series.
Team Ninja also indicated that unannounced characters will make an appearance, with specific names to be released later this year.
Dead or Alive 5 Ultimate will include single-player modes such as Story Mode as well as the online battle mode.
More details about DOA 5 Ultimate will be revealed in the coming months.
