The first round of Dead Rising 3 DLC, called Dead Rising 3 Operation Broken Eagle, apparently needs some extra time to be deemed sufficiently undead. Microsoft and Capcom have announced that Dead Rising 3 Operation Broken Eagle has been delayed until January 2014. The almost four-week DLC delay is bound to be sad news for gamers who hoped to slay more zombies during the holiday break.
The Dead Rising 3 Operation Broken Eagle DLC was originally supposed to go live on Christmas Eve (Dec. 24). At that point it also had a different name: Operation Eagle. Perhaps it really IS broken…. The DLC has since been pushed to January 21, 2014.
When announcing the delay, Microsoft said “Adding new content to the massive open world of Los Perdidos is a major undertaking, and to ensure we provide the best possible experience for players, we are putting a few additional weeks of polish and testing into the episode before it’s released.”
Dead Rising 3 Operation Broken Eagle is the first add-on content for the Xbox One launch game. You can read our Dead Rising 3 review here.
In Operation Broken Eagle, players will hear some of “the untold stories of Los Perdidos.” The first episode will put gamers in control of Spec Ops Commander Adam Kane, who’s on a mission that challenges everything he believes and sets him out to capture the missing U.S. President.
When it releases on January 21, the Operation Broken Eagle DLC will include a new mission, five new weapons, one new combo weapon, one new vehicle, a new clothing outfit, plus additional Gamerscore and the ability to carry experience points back to Dead Rising 3.
