NHN USA announced the launch of Live Service for Drift City on ijji.com. Drift City is a cel-shaded style racer that incorporates role-playing game elements into a racing game environment. Gamers will also be able to customize their cars with various components and performance parts to enhance their driving and assist them in races and missions.
The storyline for Drift City takes place in the near future, where the world’s infrastructure has been hampered due to global shortages of oil. The focus of the world has turned to the remote archipelago in the Pacific at Mittron Island where an amazing natural resource, aptly named Mittron has been discovered. Due to an influx of vehicles called HUVs that have invaded the island to terrorize and disrupt the city and economy, the governing body of the island, the OMD has called in elite drivers from around to world to restore order.
Players have the option to play in Mission Mode where they can complete objectives assigned by the OMD focused on speed and safety. If you’re in the mood to battle the clock you can play the Delivery Service Missions or if you prefer straight out racing you can joing the Battle Zone for individual or team races. In addition, your friends can join up and you can create your own crew and race against other online teams. The real reward is winning races to earn currency called Mito and experience points which you can use in the Driver Dome to update and customize your cars. Another cool feature is the Auction House where you can sell your modified beauty or purchase other cars or parts that you need.
Drift City is available now for download for FREE. Now that’s a hard bargain to beat.
