We’re all children of the ’80s here, so the DuckTales cartoon series holds a special place in our collective heart. From Uncle Scrooge to the newphews to, yes, Gizmoduck, we do love us some DuckTales. Turns out we’re not alone, as there’s enough of a fanbase to justify a Duck Tales video game for Xbox 360. And we just so happen to be giving one download code away.
DuckTales: Remastered is just that — an updated version of the original Duck Tales game for the Nintendo Entertainment System (NES) from 1989. Since it appears on Xbox 360, the game is a fully high-definition remake that retains the classic 2D hand-drawn character sprites but puts them in 3D modeled levels.
As if Capcom wanted to stop our Scrooge-loving hearts, DuckTales: Remastered features full voice acting for the characters if the cast members is alive, including Alan Young as Scrooge McDuck. Fabulous!
Since the game is a late-80s remake, it naturally hearkens back to the days of Super Mario with its gameplay. Players step into the semi-complete boots of Scrooge McDuck, who’s on a mission to (of course) fill his treasure chest. Scrooge can swing his cane to hit objects, or bounce on it to pounce on enemies from above and traverse hazardous areas.
In other words, there’s a ton of fun here for young kids or even older gamers like us who remember the original series fondly. And best yet, you can win an Xbox 360 version of it for free right here.
