As much as people fault EA for suffering from “sequelitis,” the company continues to announce new franchises, including today’s news of a new game called Mirror’s Edge.
Developed by DiCE, the next-generation game is “a revolutionary new take on the First Person Action Adventure category,” according to EA. Whatever that category is….
Owen O’Brien, senior producer for the game, said “We want to change the way players are able to move in first person. No more restrictions, no more being blocked by simple barriers such as walls and fences. We want to enable the player to move like a real person, with the ability to run, jump, vault and slide in a way that has never been seen before in a first-person game.”
Although additional details about Mirror’s Edge are scarce at this point, we can tell you that the game will appear on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC sometime during 2008.
