As much as holiday shoppers may like Black Friday 2014 sales to actually take place on “Black Friday,” the day after Thanksgiving, it looks like some Walmart Black Friday 2014 deals will start early. To be specific, some of the Walmart Black Friday 2014 deals will actually be going all month long.
While the Walmart Black Friday 2014 ad won’t hit until closer to Thanksgiving, some sales have already begun. Online retailers like Amazon and NewEgg.com have historically offered big sales not on Black Friday but on Cyber Monday, the day after the long holiday weekend.
In recent years the trend has gone well beyond the long shopping weekend, extending to what’s been playfully called Black November. Walmart is apparently joining the fray, with a slew of Walmart Black Friday 2014 deals already in effect and lasting all month long.
Some of the best Black Friday 2014 sales Walmart is offering are tied to Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and other game systems, with TVs and other electronics rounding out the list. Toys are also subject to some early discounts, as Walmart has already begun offering free shipping on items on the Walmart Top 100 gift list.
Walmart has already committed to price matching competitors leading up to and beyond Black Friday 2014.
While Walmart’s Black Friday sales for game consoles are currently tied to existing discounts like the Xbox One November price cut, there are bound to be deeper sales once Black Friday 2014 actually hits. One current deal includes a bonus pack-in game for Xbox One, mimicking Walmart’s pattern from years past of offering a free or heavily discounted game.
These Walmart Black Friday 2014 deals are starting earlier than ever. In 2012 the retailer launched about 100 holiday deals starting in early November. Walmart is now offering 100 Black Friday 2014 deals in the video games and toys section alone.
That same year, several retailers opened their doors on Thanksgiving Day, not even waiting for Black Friday to kick-off their sales. Considering Walmart is already offering some key holiday discounts online, Black Friday 2014 could see Walmart, Target, Macy’s and Sears continue that trend of opening on Thanksgiving morning.
What’s interesting about the Walmart Black Friday 2014 deals already available is that they’re tied to name brands. Normally a Black Friday sale is ridiculously inexpensive because it’s for an off-brand TV or electronic device. Looking at this list shows that’s not the case with these Black Friday 2014 early bird sales at Walmart.
