This weekend, YouTube will host its first-ever “community celebration” for users, an event called YouTube Live that will be streamed (of course) via YouTube. Today, the event picked-up a new lead sponsor: Guitar Hero.
With the Guitar Hero connection, YouTube Live will be getting a yet-to-be-announced guitar legend to perform on stage alongside Guitar Hero expert Freddie Wong. Guitar Hero World Tour kiosks will also be available throughout the event.
At YouTube Live, an audience of thousands will experience some of YouTube’s renowned musicians, bedroom vloggers, side-splitting comedians and world-class athletes at Herbst Pavillion in Fort Mason. Artists scheduled to perform are Katy Perry, Akon, William.I.Am, Soul Ja Boy Tell’ Em, Esmee Denters, the Mythbusters (wonder what they’re going to play…), Bo Burnham and MC Hammer.
