Yesterday we reported that Ubisoft was bringing the EndWar demo exclusively to the Xbox 360. Our news was based on a press release from Ubisoft that clearly indicated the EndWar demo was exclusive to Xbox 360. Turns out, Ubisoft’s announcement — and thus our news item — wasn’t entirely correct.
Ubisoft’s Senior Manager of Public Relations, Tim Cummins, contacted DailyGame today to tell us that, although the press release said the EndWar demo was “exclusively available for Xbox 360,” there will, in fact, be an EndWar demo coming to PlayStation 3.
“Right now [the demo] is only on the 360,” Cummins said. “We will have a PS3 demo however. The date is TBD.”
When asked whether PS3 owners should look for the demo before or after EndWar’s Nov. 4 release date, Cummins replied, “No official date, but it will likely be around the time of launch. Early November-ish.”
So, PS3 owners will, in fact, get to play an EndWar demo, but it’s unclear whether the demo will appear before or after the full retail game ships. Either way, the demo’s presence will give PS3 owners a chance to try EndWar’s voice-command RTS aspects before deciding whether the game’s for them.
