The recent Call of Duty Ghosts multiplayer reveal was almost overshadowed by Activision including the world-premier of a new track from Eminem’s upcoming album The Marshall Mathers LP 2. Although we managed to get some good hands-on details, plenty of people just couldn’t get over the Eminem single included in the teaser trailer. Today, Activision amped-up the distraction factor, as the company announced a promotion whereby people who pre-order Call of Duty: Ghosts will get an LE version of the new Eminem album.
Call of Duty: Ghosts and Eminem’s new The Marshall Mathers LP 2 are dropping on the same date (Nov. 5), so the promotion makes total sense. Here’s how it works: anyone who pre-orders the game at GameStop will get their copy of Call of Duty: Ghosts at launch, plus a code to download an LE version of the new Eminem album that includes an exclusive, bonus studio track.
Better yet, the LE version of the new Eminem album will only set you back $8.99.
This program continues the collaboration announced in August, when Eminem first revealed “Survival,” a track from The Marshall Mathers LP 2. Activision’s promotion with Eminem will continue later this month, with a music video trailer featuring “Survival” and Call of Duty: Ghosts.
The offer is redeemable through Monday, November 19 at 11:59PM EST. It applies to purchases of Call of Duty: Ghosts exclusively at GameStop and select additional retailers worldwide. Participating fans will receive a code on receipt with their purchase of Call of Duty: Ghosts. The code will make available for purchase at the special price of $8.99 an edition of The Marshall Mathers LP 2 featuring not only the track “Survival,” but also a bonus, exclusive studio track.
The news of this offer for an LE version of the New Eminem album follows last week’s revelation that gamers who pre-order Call of Duty: Ghosts at GameStop will receive a pack of content that includes the bonus classic Simon “Ghost” Riley multiplayer character. Simon Riley first appeared in the original Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 and became one of the most iconic characters in COD history. This will mark the first time he’ll be a playable multiplayer character.
