Microsoft this week added two new games to the Xbox One June Deals With Gold program, with Tomb Raider and Strider getting discounts until June 23. These two Xbox One Deals with Gold specials reflect a 50% discount from their normal retail price.
The week after E3 always risks being a letdown of sorts for gamers, but that doesn’t seem to be the case this year. Tomb Raider is a particularly good game, so to see it for 50% off is a nice gesture.
Microsoft’s Deals with Gold program is not to be confused with the Games with Gold program. The Xbox One Deals with Gold offers a shuffling lineup of titles with discounts that only apply for one week. The Xbox One Games with Gold program offers two free games per month.
Both the Deals with Gold and Xbox One Games with Gold program require an Xbox Live Gold subscription. Hence the whole “gold” thing.
There is one exception to that for the June 17 Deals with Gold. Xbox One owners can get Killer Instinct’s Sabrewolf add-on for 80% off until June 23 whether they’re an Xbox Live Gold or Silver member.
These three Xbox One deals are complemented by 10 discounted games for Xbox 360 owners. Six titles in the Games on Demand program are discounted this week. One of them, Deadfall Adventures, has an 80% off discount. The remaining five are all 75% off through June 23. They all also happen to be Rockstar games: Bully, LA Noire, Midnight Club LA, Max Payne 3 and Read Dead Redemption.
Four “passes” are also included in the Xbox 360 Deals with Gold program for the week of June 16: Max Payne 3 R* Pass (75% off), Saints Row The Third Season Pass (50% off), Saints Row The Third Online Pass (50% off), and Saints Row IV Season Pass (60% off).
Those are all well and good, but the Xbox One June 17 Deals With Gold addition of Tomb Raider is definitely the crown jewel among the bunch.
