As we all stay up late watching Michael Phelps and the rest of the American Olympic team go for gold, it’s safe to say we’re consumed by Olympic fever. And hellooooo, ladies gymnastics team…you going to un-choke anytime soon? One gymnast has already struck gold, although not with the Olympic team. Eidos today revealed that seasoned gymnast Alison Carroll will be the new face of Lara Croft.
Carroll will portray Lara Croft for the duration of the next year, with her first appearances to be made promoting Tomb Raider: Underworld, which ships for PS3 and Xbox 360 in November.
Tomb Raider: Underworld is the first Tomb Raider game designed to reflect the physical athleticism and real-world skills of a world-class adventurer, and its new engine was built specifically to re-create movements and skills reminiscent of a skilled gymnast. Carroll, an experienced competitive gymnast, provides just that, as she has more than 12 years of gymnastics training and has competed the world over.
