Ubisoft today announced a release “window” for Haze, a next-gen first-person shooter being developed by Free Radical. The date: May 2008.
Free Radical is best known for its TimeSplitters games, a series whose success had led to plenty of excitement for Haze since it was revealed at E3 2006.
Ubisoft in May will publish Haze as a PS3 exclusive, but much like Assassin’s Creed, Ubisoft could simply be playing coy about the existence of an Xbox 360 version.
In Haze, players assume the role of a soldier of the Mantel Corporation, which gives its army a special substance called Nectar. Although Nectar makes the troops strong, its abuse also leads to temporary insanity, which can result in some interesting gameplay scenarios — and plot twists.
