The holiday-timed rush of video game releases is nearing, and for the first time in years, we’re asking for your help. The PS4 and Xbox One will pop with new releases in the next two months, while the Wii U, PS3 and Xbox 360 will each see their own game releases as well. Frankly, it’s just too much for us to cover with our existing resources. That’s why we’re issuing this Help Wanted: video game reviewers and writers alert.
There’s a lot of video game content to monitor and post, from breaking news and game reviews to analyses and opinion pieces. Although we don’t endorse fanboys, we’re definitely looking for big-time fans of game consoles who aren’t blinded by their bias for one or another system.
We’re looking for guys and gals who live and breathe video games and are looking for a platform to share their thoughts. We’re looking for people who love to monitor the Web for breaking video game news and want to share it with Daily Game readers via news posts. We’re looking for hardcore gamers who play more games than they probably should and can share an educated opinion about what makes a game great (or not) in their reviews.
In other words, if you’re passionate about games and are looking for a national audience to share your news and views, we want to hear from you. Daily Game writers contribute on a voluntary basis, with the payoff being public exposure and a highly visible platform. We at times get discs or download codes so our writers “free games” in exchange for their review coverage. Sometimes we all have to buy our own games to write about them. On occasion we get paid trips to preview games and/or earn E3 media badges. Ultimately the more people write, the greater their potential rewards and the higher their readership.
This site can be a great long-term place for video game writers, or it can be a springboard for larger paid freelance journalism jobs. Since it’s monitored by several high-profile news sites, Daily Game is a great place to get exposure, gain a following and refine your knowledge of the video game news cycle and what people want to read.
Writing for Daily Game comes with a few ground rules:
