The Cloud Factory, an animated children’s picture book app developed by Dalmatian Studios, officially launched an engaging Buzzfeed page to promote awareness of the fascinating nature of clouds.
“I think clouds are stunning in their simplicity, and in today’s fast-paced world, I believe it would benefit us all to stop and acknowledge nature’s canvas in the sky, and appreciate its natural wonder,” says Steven Andrew, President of Dalmatian Studios.
This page entitled “10 Reasons Clouds are Awesome” outlines the amazing shapes and colors clouds take on. Before digital entertainment, cloud watching was a common past-time; friends would spend hours staring up at the sky, looking for a shape they could recognize. From animals, to extreme patterns, clouds not only morph into wild forms, but reflect the sun and the ocean, creating a living painting in the sky.
“In The Cloud Factory, I wanted to reinvent the way children read and listen to stories,” says Andrew, “The app engages children by telling a compelling story in which they can participate.”
The Cloud Factory encourages children to interact with a relatable story about a young girl and her grandfather, in which he teaches her how clouds are made. Children will follow along by performing various actions on their iPad such as swipe, tilt, and shake, to move forward in the story. These actions are used to gather the ingredients to make a cloud, and bring them to the factory to be mixed.
