E3 2009 has come and gone, and Uncharted 2 is still among our most-anticipated games of the next six months. The first Uncharted had some gameplay hiccups but remains one of the most purely enjoyable PS3 games on the market, and it’s one of the best voice-acted and animated games on any system. Period.
So the sequel, Uncharted 2, definitely has our attention, particularly with regard to the acting. Well lo and behold, at E3 Sony brought in Nolan North, a man whose face and name might not be all that familiar to gamers but whose voice certainly is. North provides the voice and snarky one-liners of Uncharted’s main character, Nathan Drake.
Normally we don’t post too many videos from other outlets — not sure why, since we seldom shoot our own — but this interview with Nolan North from E3 2009 is simply too good to pass up. Filmed by the PlayStation Blog, this 10-minute interview (more of a North monologue) provides some incredible insight into what it takes to not only record dialogue for a game, but provide a sense of life to digital characters.
The video also provides some great gameplay video snippets as well. Take a peek:
