Keaunu Reeves has come a long way since his Bill & Ted and Point Blank days, but the “woah” jokes never get old. So excuse the irony in saying “woah” to the John Wick Blu-ray release date, which Summit Entertainment announced is a lot sooner that we expected.
The John Wick Blu-ray Disc set will ship to retail on February 3, just 20 days after debuting in Digital HD.
In John Wick, Reeves plays an ex-assassin who’s become a hitman for hire. When a group of young thugs attack him for no reason, it’s time for the seasoned killing-spree vet to do what he does best throughout New York City. Wick embarks on a revenge-fueled rampage, hunting down his adversaries with the skill and ruthlessness that made him an underworld legend.
Reeves is joined in the John Wick cast by Michael Nyqvist (Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol), Alfie Allen (Game of Thrones), Adrianne Palicki (G.I. Joe: Retaliation), Bridget Moynahan (I, Robot) John Leguizamo (The Lincoln Lawyer) and Willem Dafoe (The Grand Budapest Hotel).
The Blu-ray and Digital HD bonus materials include six exclusive featurettes that take a detailed look at different aspects of the film including the intense stunts, incredible action sequences, the stylized look and locale of the film, establishing the world of John Wick and a discussion with director Chad Stahelski and producer David Leitch on how they made this action film their way.
The John Wick Blu-ray also includes an audio commentary with the filmmakers. The Blu-ray is encoded in Dolby TrueHD and features a Dolby Atmos soundtrack, remixed specifically for the home theater environment.
If you happen to be in stores on the John Wick Blu-ray release date, you can expect to pay $39.99 for the Blu-ray version and $29.95 for the DVD version.
