Killzone 2, the PS3’s most recent must-have title, is about to bolster its multiplayer component with the first official downloadable content for the game. The Killzone 2 DLC will be available on the PlayStation Network beginning April 30.
The map pack, called “Steel and Titanium,” will include two new maps for the online multiplayer mode, plus new gameplay elements and strategic twists.
The first new map, called Wasteland Bullet, is inspired by the train level Tharsis Refinery in the single-player campaign. In this map, players will do battle on and between two high-speed bullet trains while navigating the trains’ narrow layout when indoors. That’s right: players will be able to jump back and forth between the trains throughout the level, making it important to be mindful of oncoming obstacles like a concrete pillar, which can knock players off the train.
The second map, Vekta Cruiser, is based on the Cruiser level from the single-player campaign. In this map, ISA troops find themselves in close quarters while boarding a vast ship. The goal is to repel an incoming force of Helghast while simultaneously protecting the cruiser from enemy fire. The action takes place entirely indoors
Exact pricing for the Steel and Titanium map pack is still being determined by Sony.
