Left 4 Dead 2 is coming to an Xbox 360 and PC near you, Valve announced at E3 2009 today. However, PS3 gamers will be left out in the cold once again, as Left 4 Dead 2 will be exclusive for Xbox 360 and PC, as was the case with the original Left 4 Dead.
Left 4 Dead 2 will ship on November 17. The sequel will add melee combat to enable deeper co-operative gameplay, as well as items including a chainsaw, frying pan, axe and baseball bat.
Left 4 Dead 2’s AI will get a boost from the next iteration of Valve’s AI Director engine, which gives the Director the ability to procedurally change weather effects, world objects and pathways in addition to tailoring the enemy population, effects and sounds based on players’ performance.
Also on the roster of “new stuff” will be new Survivors, boss zombies, weapons and items. It will also be a “much larger game than the original, with more co-operative campaigns, more Versus campaigns and maps for Survival mode available at launch.”
We’ll bring you more information as it surfaces.
