LEGO Battles has shipped for the Nintendo DS, but before you rush out to snag it for your child, you should know that it’s a bit more adult-oriented. Well, to be more accurate, it’s a real-time strategy game.
LEGO Battles combines elements of three classic LEGO toy themes — Castle, Pirates and Space — and uses those themed environments and vehicles to let players build their own battles that they can then either play alone in Story and Free Play modes or share with up to two other friends in Multiplayer mode.
All told, the game includes 55 playable characters and 30 vehicles. With inspiration from the three aforementioned toy themes, players will see pirate swordsmen fighting side-by-side with aliens, dragons battling ninjas, and pirate ships launching broadsides against space crafts, among other unique combinations.
LEGO Battles for Nintendo DS will set you back $29.99. You can snag it from Amazon using the link above and actually save a couple of dollars.
