Magnetica proved to be a successful Zuma clone for the Nintendo DS, so it’s not surprising to see an updated version called Magnetica Twist head for WiiWare today. The follow-up ball-flicking game will be joined online by Fatal Fury 2, which Nintendo will upload to the Wii Virtual Console today.
Magnetica Twist (1,000 Wii Points) has players surrounded by marbles that are marching slowly but surely down a track. Using a launcher that’s piloted by a Mii, players will shoot marbles of matching colors and wipe them out before they reach the end of the track. Controlling the launcher is achieved by simply twisting the Wii Remote to aim and pressing the A button to shoot. All told, Magnetica Twist has five gameplay modes.
The Wii Virtual Console, meanwhile, sees one online update today: Fatal Fury 2 (900 Wii Points). Originally released on the NeoGeo, Fatal Fury 2 adds five distinct fighters to the fighting-game series as well as stage-specific hazards and the ability to perform desperation attacks when a character’s strength is low. These techniques create the chance for a come-from-behind victory achieved using a single strike. The two-line battle was also enhanced in this sequel, as players can press the weak-attack and strong-attack buttons simultaneously to move their fighters to another line themselves, or to launch an attack that pushes opponents back to another line.
