Man of Steel is doing its best in the theaters to beat back the kryptonite of Week 2 blues, but that’s not stopping Warner Bros. Interactive from leveraging the film’s awareness by announcing a new Superman-themed round of DLC for Injustice: Gods Among Us. The latest DLC for the game, which is comprised of two skins, will ship for the game in July.
Top on the DLC list is a Superman skin. The upcoming costume for Injustice: Gods Among Us is based on DC Comics’ Superman character as seen in the new Man of Steel movie rather than the original theatrical look of Christopher Reeve. Also scheduled for release in July is the General Zod downloadable content (DLC) character. The General Zod character is based on NetherRealm Studios’ interpretation of the famed DC Comics character.
The Man of Steel Superman skin will be available on Xbox Live Marketplace for 80 Microsoft Points and on the PlayStation Network for $0.99. Won’t it be nice to get rid of those silly Microsoft Points and go toward normal currency when the Xbox One releases? The General Zod playable character will be available on Xbox Live Marketplace for 400 Microsoft Points and PlayStation Network for $4.99.
Injustice: Gods Among Us introduces a new franchise in the fighting game genre and a brand new story created in collaboration between NetherRealm Studios, DC Entertainment and comic book writers Justin Gray and Jimmy Palmiotti. As the story unfolds, players will experience the power, gadgetry and unparalleled strength of some the most popular DC Comics heroes and villains.
Some of the characters in Injustice: Gods Among Us are Batman, Superman, The Flash, Wonder Woman, Green Arrow, Aquaman and The Joker. Each of these characters engages in epic battles in a world where the line between good and evil is blurred.
