Downloadable music is hot, and that trend is extending to MTV’s Rock Band video game, as the company today announced it will release a whole host of downloadable music tracks before the end of 2007. Among them: Metallica, The Police, Queens of the Stone Age, David Bowie, Ramones and The Clash.
MTV will make the music downloads for Rock Band available on the PS3 and Xbox 360 every week once the game ships on Nov. 20. In fact, starting Nov. 20, rock music fans can download three-song packs from Metallica, The Police and Queens of the Stone Age will be available for $5.49 per pack or $1.99 per track (440 and 160 Microsoft Points, respectively). Individual tracks from Foreigner, Wolfmother and The Runaways, among others, will be available for $1.99 per track (160 Microsoft Points). A preliminary downloadable-music track list is below.
