Gametap today announced two developments related to Myst Online: Uru Live. First, a new area of the city and a new Age are being released on January 19. And second, a Macintosh-compatible version of the game is in the works by TransGaming Inc.
The Mac news is significant because it marks the first time the Myst series will be available to Apple-loving gamers. The new Age news is significant because, well, it’s a big chunk of real estate. Here’s more info from today’s announcement:
“The Myst Online: Uru Live preview storyline continues to build with last week’s introduction of Cate Alexander. Cate’s appearance has had a significant effect on the D’ni Restoration Council (DRC) and the cavern restoration effort as a whole, as evidenced by the recent opening of several city areas. That pattern continues with the opening of more city areas, including the Great Zero, and the restoration of an all-new Age, which explorers can visit for the first time ever.
