You’d think EA would want to play nice with Take-Two, since it once wanted to buy the company. No such luck. Today, EA shipped NBA Live 09 for the PS3, Xbox 360 and PS2, as well as the PSP, putting the company’s basketball game on retail shelves the very same day 2K Sports’ game hit stores.
NBA Live 09 All-Play is also available today for the Nintendo Wii.
NBA LIVE 09 incorporates a new technology that EA has dubbed “Dynamic DNA.” Using this technology — which is powered by Synergy Sports Technology, the premier analytics provider of NBA data for more than 20 NBA teams — NBA Live 09 will be updated throughout the NBA season to accurately reflect players’ and teams’ tendencies and performance. Three components of Dynamic DNA include Player DNA, which breaks down how a player scores; Team DNA, which rates how the players on the floor play as a unit; and Tendencies, which refer to the percentage a player drives left, right or shoots from each spot on the floor.
Dynamic DNA data will update every single day of the NBA season.
In addition to Dynamic DNA, NBA Live 09 is introducing Pick and Roll Control, Defensive Lockdown Control, Signature Playcalling and “Quickstrike Ankle-Breakers.” It also features 24 authentic FIBA teams and a FIBA World Championship Mode using FIBA tournament structure, rules and court dimensions.
NBA Live 09 also supports online 5-on-5 team play, where 10 people can play together on 10 different consoles around the world.
