PS Messages promises to spice up the booming mobile messaging market, which analyst Ovum predicts will get ‘mass adoption’ in 2014. Hailed the anti-Facebook messenger, PS Messages fills the gap between stickers and SnapChat with 1000s of irreverent, cheeky and original card designs and a no holds-barred instant messenger to share them in.
“Forget stickers, emoticons or even SnapChat,” says founder Clive Hutchinson. “Who Cares? Unless ‘sexting’ randoms or ‘LOL’ing over cute panda stickers is your thing. We’ve designed PS Messages as a new, creative space to express yourself with your friends and lovers away from all of this hype. Our 1000s of designs are hand picked to spice up your messages, whether you’re feeling frisky, naughty or nice. And best of all, you never have to worry about your gran or teenage brother joining in.”
And it seems that PS Messages has launched just in time, with analyst Ovum predicting this month that mobile messaging apps will reach a new high in 2014. According to their report, the number of messages sent over social messaging apps such as WhatsApp or Line will grow from 27.5 trillion in 2013 to 71.5 trillion by the end of 2014. And with big players such as Facebook Messenger already reporting losses to the newer social messaging apps, it seems that 2014 is the perfect time for PS Messages to capture its audience.
