Sony promoted the PlayStation 4 at Taco Bell before launch, and it seems to have worked out great for sales. So it’s only appropriate that Microsoft has debuted a McDonalds free Xbox One promotion now through December 23. The McDonalds free Xbox One works a lot like the fast-food restaurant’s popular Monopoly game, which has been around for years.
McDonalds’ promo is called “One Hot Holiday” and runs through December 23, just in time to let people know whether they’ve won a free Xbox One before Christmas. Think of it as a way to give that special someone an “IOU” for one of Microsoft’s shiny new next-gen consoles. In addition to being able to win one of thousands Xbox One consoles, fast-food junkies can also win millions of prizes related to Xbox.
Here’s how the McDonalds free Xbox One promo works. Go to a McDonalds restaurant today through December 23, and purchase any Premium McWrap, Quarter Pounder (not the Double Quarter Pounder with Cheese) or a Medium Fry. Each item’s packaging will include a game piece (while supplies last) that can be peeled off to reveal an instant win message. With more than 140 million total games pieces, including thousands of Xbox One consoles and millions of other prizes for Xbox, there are plenty of goodies to win in time for the holidays.
You can’t redeem the prizes at the eatery itself, or at a Microsoft Store. Instead, prizes can be claimed using a smartphone, tablet or computer at the official website for the McDonalds free Xbox One promotion.
In addition to the in-store free Xbox One contest, you can also win online through the McDonalds Twitter handle. Followers who use #WinAtMcDs from December 3-20 will have another chance to win an Xbox One. You can follow @McDonalds for more details on how to enter.
