The original Call of Juarez game demonstrated some of the best writing and voice acting ever to grace the FPS genre. The fact that the game just so happened to be an Old West shooter was just icing on the cake for this self-proclaimed Old West geek. So imagine my excitement to hear that Ubisoft and Techland are again teaming up for a Call of Juarez game, this time going back to the original’s Old West roots. Called Call of Juarez: The Gunslinger, the game is slated to release on XBLA, PSN and Windows PC in 2013.
Call of Juarez: The Gunslinger will have players re-living – and revealing – the lives of the most infamous lawmen and outlaws of the Old West. Returning to the roots of the series, Call of Juarez: The Gunslinger will put gamers in the shoes of a bounty hunter who has his sights set on taking down the most notorious gunslingers, including the likes of Billy the Kid, Pat Garrett, Jesse James and more.
Giving gamers the tools to take down the best, the series’ Concentration Mode will return with a twist: gamers can unleash a flurry of bullets while dodging others. Along with their gun-slinging abilities, players will also hone their skills and acquire new abilities in a series-first skill system.
Needless to say, I’m stoked to hear more about Call of Juarez: The Gunslinger and get my itchy trigger fingers on it as soon as possible.
